Stony Dean School is fully committed to providing a full and balanced curriculum with a strong emphasis on language development. We also passionately believe that we are educating the whole child and we focus on preparation for the world of work and the subsequent skills involved. We have designed the curriculum to meet the needs of our students and to provide opportunities for academic success. We have and will be following the National Curriculum and other suitable accreditations that meet the needs of students and prepare them for their future. These are appropriately modified to meet their special educational needs, having regard to age, ability, aptitude, and the nature of their learning difficulties
Each year our students in year 11 and year 13 leave our school with both academic and personal success. Students leave with a mixture of Entry Levels, GCSE’s BTEC’s & other qualifications. Their qualifications reflect the individual students learning journey and are maximised to ensure that they are stretched and challenged to ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved. As a school we take a robust approach to ensuring that our students are fulfilling their potential by comparing the progress of our students against nationally recognised standards .
Analysis of Maths and English Results Key Stage 2 to 4
The pupils’ year 11 teacher assessments and exam results are analysed in these charts. A pupil’s baseline assessment and appendix D of the Progression Guidance 2010-11 is used to generate an assessment of whether a pupil’s final result was in the lowest 25% of learner (LQ), the median or the top 25% of learners (UQ) compared to the 2009 cohort. Specific regard is also given to the results of those pupils classified as PPF, EAL and EMaG.
